Vamos
Vamos village, 25 kilometers from Hania, has been classed as 'protected' and is full of wonderful old buildings. The best way to appreciate Vamos is to walk around the lanes, this way you can really appreciate the architecture and unique items such as the rock road. There are many cafenions here as well as restaurants, a bank, post office, court house, police station, health centre, realty offices and numerous shops. Vamos was the site of many battles in 1866 and 1896 and the memorial is in the main square just next to the municipal building.
