Plaka

Plaka is located in the Apokoron region of the northwest coast of Crete, Greece and is only 2 kilometres from Almirida Beach.  Situated high up the hill there are wonderful views over the Mediterranean Sea. Plaka has tavernas, bar/coffee shops, two grocery stores and of course the Greek Orthodox church which is always well worth the visit. There are many interesting walks to take around the village, usually through olive groves, or you can easily walk on to the next villages of Kambia and Kokkino Horio.
