The village of Kefalas, 282m above sea level, is about 5 minutes by car from
Vamos and about 10 minutes to
Almirida Beach. A picturesque village right on the northeast edge of
Drapanos peninsula, built facing the sea with interesting architecture . Kefalas is a well preserved, old village. An good place to visit with it's interesting village streets, sea views and tavernas where a traditional meal can be enjoyed. Eight churches can be found here. The views from Kefalas to the Bay of Georgioupolis and the White Mountains are spectacular and on a clear day Rethymnon can be seen. Kefalas is untouched by tourism and the old traditional way of life still remains. If you arrive in Kefalas from the direction of Vamos, turn left at the main square and continue on this road through
