The village of Armeni is about 15 minutes, by car, from Kalives, in the middle of an agricultural valley producing olives, potatoes, grapes and local wine. Armeni with it's coffee shops, four tavernas & mini markets is a charming older village dominated by platanos trees in the village square. Most areas of the village offer good views of the Cretan White Mountains. A small river flows right through the village so it is very green and cool, even in the summer heat.
