My Epson Stylus C84 has suddenly decided it will not print – anyone know this printer?
Communication cables and ports are fine. Driver is fine. Ink Levels is fine. It seems like it is printing, but contains no ink – hand just comes out blank. This is just all of a sudden – printed one day, then suddenly did not print. Does Epson have a chip embedded that will just shut down the printer, so you have to buy a new one? (I've had this printer for 4 years, I believe).
If you leave your printer turned on all the time, your print heads more than likely clogged. Run the head cleaning, nozzle check and head alignment utility. Epson and Canon printers, unlike HP, has separate printheads. HP's printhead is integrated into the cartridge, so when you replace the ink, you can get a new printhead too. This is why HP ink costs more than Epson and Canon. Just remember to power off your printer when not using it, and the leaders will not lock. Also, by letting printer on all the time, the explosive cartridge into the printer, this will happen with any make of printer, HP included.
